I found out my power wire to my blower motor is burned. I bought a new wire harness. Any ideas how to run this to avoid laying 300 dollars at the dealership? Any wire schematics will help!!
Check rockauto.com. You can probably buy just the pigtail (plug). I'd replace that blower motor as well. Sounds like it's pulling too much power. Sometimes they'll do that if they're dying. HTH. -Jim
Thanks. I replaced the blower motor and resistor already. Finally decided to take it to mercedes for diagnosis. They told me the (tip) was burned, and wanted to charge me almost 300 to replace. Was wondering if it was a job i could do myself
You should be able to. The pigtail that I referred to earlier is the plug for the blower motor with about a foot of wire attached. All that's involved is you cut off the old plug, strip about one quarter of an inch of insulation from the existing wire(s), and using butt connectors, splice the new plug onto the existing wiring in the car. You'll also want to electric tape the connections (if under the dash) or use heat shrink tubing (if in the engine compartment). Even if you know nothing about cars you can do this is about an hour, tops. HTH. - Jim
