Mercedes Benz 2006 E-350 does not start at all

Asked by Guru996MQ7 Oct 18, 2020 at 06:57 PM about the 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class E 350 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car does not start, the keys don't work.
- The Battery is quiet new
- I also trickle charged the battery and it does show fully charged
- Replaced battery of the key FOB too

The car is totally dead. I tried to look through videos for possible causes and
tried to check but no such thing found.

I looked at the battery area and found a lose wire but not sure where it is
supposed to go (pic attached). I am not even sure whether it could be a
problem.

I would really appreciate if the gurus can review and suggest what I can do.

Finally after 18months of car being dead the mystery is solved. I had been trickle charging the battery and everytime it would be Green on the charger that battery is charged. The problem is that the trickle charger cannot distinguish being 0 charge and Full charge. When battery was dead it would not take in any trickle charge. With no current flowing the trickle charger would think battery is fully charged and shutdown. So essentially battery neve charged and all systems in car slowly had shutdown (including the shockers of the car and body of car had become so low that it was almost touching the tires). Finally called RepairSmith mobile service to check all wirings. First thing they did was jump start the car. Behold the car started, car body slowly rose from the low point and after me driving for 30min battery continued to keep charge. I was almost ready to junk it. It is amazing how Mercedes systems worked even after car was dead for 18 months. I love this car and missed it for 18 months.
