Oil pressure goes up when on accelerating
I have a 2004 trailblazer with the 4.2 and every time
I give it gas the oil pressure goes up but at a stop
stays at 40 but going up the mtn it will go up to 60
is that normal or no
Yes, that's normal. The oil pump is driven by the engine. When the engine speeds up the oil pump pumps faster, so the oil pressure increases. HTH. -Jim
also a ruel of thumb..every 1000 rpm need 10 lbs pressure..so if you bring it up to 6000 rpm you need 60 lbs of oil pressurs...see
i've went from 28 psi city to 62psi cruising on the hwy in a 1989 riviera. very normal.
