My 2004 Trailblazer

Asked by GuruCW24G Feb 10, 2019 at 05:10 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2004 Trailblazer will not start. It didn’t even
make a noise and no lights came on.  I couldn’t
even unlock my doors, without my key control
(afraid I would set off the alarm) I finally got in with
the other one. Come to find out dead truck, dead
alarm system.  I put the key in the ignition and it
would not release my key.  I hope I’m making
sense, it’s 3:05 am

Sounds like the battery is completely dead. Start with trying to jump start or pull the battery out and have it charged and tested.

Hello there, I myself just had this exact problem. If battery is good, you can turn your headlights on even without the key. In my case, my battery is new. 2 things to check, make sure your G201 ground is good. Located on transmission hump passenger side. 1 screw in carpet, bend back, it's right there. This ground controls A LOT of things. I scraped the paint back, shined it up and re-installed. Now, that did not work for me, but now I know this ground is good. My positive battery cable was not making good contact. As soon as I touched the terminal with wrench, my aftermarket alarm started going off, problem solved. Check and double check battery connections.
