2004 Chevy trailblazer air conditioner does not work on speeds 1-4, speed 5 works just fine
2004 Chevy trailblazer LS, air conditioner does not work on speeds 1-4,
speed 5 works just fine, when I turn speed 1-4 the warning brake light
comes on and dings, I just bought and changed the blower motor resister
and its still the same 1-4 doesn't work, what else could it be ??? I even
pulled the 2 fuses for the air conditioning to reset the system,I have been
reading all the air conditioning problems and it all comes down to the blower
motor resister but there must be another solution,
you may have gotten a bad resistor right out of the box, but also a bad blower motor can do this. it will toast the resistor as soon as you install it.
btw, there are a few youtube vids on how to test your resistor.
I have been on youtube, I beleive I should take it to a shop before I spend any more money on parts, good thing is the resistor is a lifetime warranty. It just might be the blower motor, I read if the blower motor is weak it will not run on low speeds, speed 5 works great
yes, and if a blower is bad, its resistance can kill switches, had this happen once on a dodge caravan. good luck. Mike.
