sometimes the door locks work, sometimes the auto door closing works. no radio, previous owner added cd changer in trunk. abs light and srs dash lights lit up all the time.

ABS and SRS lights are due to the system sensing a "fault" in the system. Did you go to your local Advanced Auto/NAPA/Pep Boys or other auto parts retailer and have the codes read for free yet ? If not start there and look up the codes to see what they say the issue is. If everything is clear then I would first disconnect the CD player and read the codes again.
