you can use this for carfax. ordering the correct parts, (if your supplier is hip to the vin situation) and will stop thugs from partin' it out.

there is no plates on it and where the back plate would be it has a paper tag with the same number that i found on the door tag. At the top of the tag on the door there is 201 584 36 39 and then it has MB AG stuttgart. What would that be. And on a tag that says SRS it says 2009 would that mean the air bags were replaced in 2009.

they are all over that machine! on the engine, on the chassis, should be on the lowest part (possible partially covered up, the one that cops have to look at) on the transmission possibly even on your odometer.

Give it back, who ever gave you the car knows that a 20 year old MB will cost you a kings ransom to keep on the road.

the name starts with crap, it's gotta be good. the 68 230S had well over 300,000 miles on it when I donated it to my pal in Milwaukee, he drove it from Oakland to Milwaukee where it still is. Yes the twin carbs cost 600 to get sychronized, No, could not make the kuhmeister start cooling, afraid of the cost, and put the windows down. Mercs were built to last!~ stayin' up there in the upper eschelon of the automobiles will cost ya, that's for sure.
