Was the AMG offered in an automatic .The 190 that is?
Yes, you can find these, although most buyers opted for the stick shift.
Thanks Mark. I am new to this site so I need to get used to navigating it.
If you are referring to the Cosworth 190e 2.3-16v, the answer is yes - they were imported as both manual and automatics; The US versions were detuned and the 190e 2.6 is about the same 0-60. The Cosworth engine was Britsh sourced, so don't expect the typical German reliability.
Actually the "engine" was not British sourced. It was based on the standard 2.3 litre 8 valve Mercedes M102 engine. Mercedes made the neccessary internal modifications to the engine block and Cosworth made the 16 valve twin cam cylinder heads only, which were then shipped off to Germany to be assembled by Mercedes.
