I have a 2006 Accord 3.0 V6. Is it also NON-interference? Therefore, if my timing belt snapped then I would just have to replace it and not worry about immediate engine failure correct?

I had no idea that determining if the Honda 3.0L V6 was interference or non-interference would be so difficult. I finally called the local Honda dealership and the service department researched it for me and told me it was a non-interference engine. I also see some general references to the 3.2L V6 being non-interference as well.

Its really a dumb question, they are all interference now, best you can hope is they only bent a few, I just replaced all valves.

Ya, they bend valves, you can tell turning the cams by hand , (not at tdc) if no problems install the belt and start it, chances are it wont run correctly, until you fix it.

I asked the owner, (used car dealer) you got oil pressure, , well, your hopes and dreams of this running fine are gone, so I bought the car, I knew it had bent valves, and you cant unbend them. told you a week ago it needed a timing belt. I don't have time to disagree, I told you to replace it.

My sons Honda is in the shop right now, it is an interference motor, his timing belt broke and destroyed the engine, so if you’ve been told it wasn’t an interference motor you have been told wrong

The 3.0 and 3.2 are non interference engines, don't listen to people who do R&R on the weekends . I'm a mechanic of 25 yrs and never have I ever had to replace the valves on a 3.0 or 3.2 v6 honda motors. Now with that said if you set the timing wrong and crank the engine YES the valves would hit the pistons, however if the vehicle is running and the belt bust the valves will not hit the pistons. Want to know why? When the vehicle is running and the cam sprockets and crank spin simultaneously and the belt "busts" the cam sprockets spin half a turn and leave the valves flat, steering clear of hitting the pistons. The guy with the above picture is lying about replacing the valves cause the picture he provided has new valves in the box and the factory valves are clearly still on the head. You can tell by the letter that's on the valve they are factory valves . Nice try though he probably lied to his customer to get 150 dollars off of them. And $150 for a valve job is super cheap , remember you get what you pay for , this job is easily 800/1200 dollar range.

Any FOOL who thinks the Honda 3.0 and 3.2 engine is NON Interference is dead wrong. We have another one in the shop and the customer saw this non-factual post - asking why when his hydraulic timing belt tensioner relaxed and let the timing belt jump did it bend ALL 24 valves - the answer is it is DEFINITELY an interference engine! Too bad some people with no concept of what they are saying post false information on these forums. If you don't know, just say so instead of guessing!
