I have a 2004 Chevy Malibu. I drove it to work and it was having a hard time accelerating. The next morning it would not start. It acts like it wants to turn but it won't turn over.

I would start with checking for codes.

How would I be able to check for codes and the car won't crank?

You need to get access to an OBD II Scanner and plug it into the port on the vehicle. The access port is typically located under the steering column. This tool will bring up any diagnostic codes if the ECM is detecting any faults.
