04 chevy cavalier check engine light code is P0442 which is evap purge control valve where is that located on engine

This is a generic image of an EVAP system. Not specific to your car, but they are all the same or near same I could not find where the charcoal canister is on that Cav. But it's near the canister, click for full screen

Actually that trouble code is for a small EVAP system leak. It could be anywhere in the system including a faulty gas cap. It's best to have a smoke test done to find the leak. It could be a tiny pinhole in one of the EVAP lines that can't be seen with the naked eye. Have the gas cap tested as well. HTH. -Jim
