Bad rod bearing on 2004chev cavalier..no dummy lights came on

Why did only check engine light come
on..but no oil light..bad bearing
happened

There may have ben sufficient oil pressure reading at the oil pressure sending unit at the time, just because you spin a bearing doesn't mean it is from lack of oil pressure, lack of oil probably, but not oil pressure. The check engine light came on instead because of the sensors on the motor detecting a miss, a vibration actually set off a sensor to set a code to turn on the check engine light.
