Can a 1998 chevy blazer transmission fit a 2004 model? Is it compatible?

If it's the 4L60E it should

it will bolt up, BUT it will not work electronically also the belhousing on the 2004 is 3/4 deeper to handle the 300mm torque converter versus the 298mm torque converter on the 1998.
