Why does my trans keep going out?

Asked by Jul 19, 2016 at 10:49 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had my transmission rebuilt in my 2004 Avalanche 1500, Z71' 4x4 about 6
months ago. Since then they have rebuilt it again 2 more times. Now it is out
again. The trans shop is supposed to be good but they are at a loss as to
what is happening.I drive it in a normal fashion and don't tow or carry a heavy
load. Has anyone seen this problem?

If they have been using the same case it is possible they have missed a bad passage or a flaw in the case itself. If they have changed out the transmission completely they need to look at fluid cooling, possibly the cooler it self is plugged.

Forgot to mention that this a computer controll d tranny so if the TCM is messing up that could also ruin a tranny.
