2005 Chevy Trailblazer Drivetrain

Asked by Jan 18, 2017 at 02:35 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We were going down the road doing
approximately 60 miles per hour when the
tranny or drivetrain seem to have slipped
into a very high rev like it was stuck in
neutral, but will not go into any gear I can
hear it engage through the 4WD system but
shifting through the tranny gears it won't
move, I did just reset my computer
brain/codes at Autozone recently. No
warning light's are on. I can feel each click
of the gears, but it won't engage them???
Please Help.

Need to get it to a trany shop.

Hi Tigerlover, I've been trying to get a hold of you on another website but you set your notifications to where I couldn't send you a message. Are you from Lancaster?

The shifter cable linkage has a plastic grommet that goes out, or should I say just falls out at the tranny shifter arm itself. It's on the driver's side under the car. If it is the problem, you will see more than likely the shifter cable just hanging down. Go to your local auto parts and get shifter linkage grommet kit. It comes with a few different ones. Not sure of the part #. But it's made by Dorman. And the orange colored ones should be the ones that work best. Very easy to install, if not sure look on YouTube and watch video. I hope this fixes you up. Plus it's only 20 to 30 bucks
