Brake system maintenance

Asked by Jul 30, 2016 at 11:35 PM about the 1997 Toyota Tercel 4 Dr CE Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 20-year old Toyota Tercel with 103K miles. It runs well. Last week, the
brake didn't work. I changed a brake hose because it was leaking and I am
going to change the other 3 brake hoses soon, but do I need to change other
parts in the brake system to make sure that I will not have a brake problem
while driving?

Check the pads to determine if they have enough material on them. If you need pad replacement, I'd replace the rotors as well.
