A/C relay constantly kicking out

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 06 Tacoma V6 and had to have the A/C pump replaced and the
dryer.  I have put in new relay's that were purchased at local parts stores
but they do not last more than a day.  I was told to go to Napa and get a
higher priced one, well, they have the same as local - all cost about $16
and didn't last.  I have ordered one from Toyota for $80 and am worried it
may be taken out as well.  Is there anything else that could be causing
this?

First thing that comes to mind when relays keep blowing out is a bad ground. The AC relay trigger voltage is fairly low (I think +/- 5V?) if a ground is bad and hovering at or above +/-5V, the relay can't react to trigger or even experiences a polarity reversal. My recommendation is to go through all your ground connections, clean them or reseat them. Replace all brittle ground wires and straps.
