Possibly. If the o2 sensor wears out..wire falls off, the ECU does not have all the data it needs to set a proper fuel/air trim. But they last a long time.

Check the air filter or oxygen sensor. It happens a lot in my case.

    My 2003 Toyota 4 runner oxygen sensor ( code 136) bank 2 keeps going bad , this is the 4th one I put in . I would be so bad but when the sensor goes bad it shuts off the trac control on the car .
