I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma lx 4x4 with 15 inch rims and 235/75r/15 Tires. I just bought 16 inch rims and 265/75r16 copper STT pro tires will they fit my truck without rubbing? please help me out
Your 235/75-15 is a total diameter of 28.88" Going to 265/75-16 puts you with a diameter of 31.65" If your speedometer reads 65 your true speed is 71.24 mph. You are changing gear ratios remember also with a taller tire, higher in every gear including final. Rubbing ? That I don't know--- probably
The new tires would be 2.7 inches taller and about 1.2 inches wider. I doubt there is an issue with clearance but you can verify that. Here is a handy calculator to help you make a decision. Note that your speedometer will be off about 5 mph at 60. https://tiresize.com/calculator/
On my Toyota I went from 225 -15's to 30 x 9.50 -15's and had room for more tire.
