Interior map light won't shut off after entring the vehicle and starting the car.

Asked by Apr 07, 2013 at 08:44 AM about the 2005 Chevrolet SSR 2 Dr LS Convertible Standard Cab SB

Question type: General

When lighting the interior lights at night with the key remote the inside map light over the console does not turn completely off while driving. Pushing the map light on the mirror turns bright on and off but not the dim setting. Is this normal operation or can the dim setting be turned off?

I'll bet that the incandescent bulb was replaced with a LED bulb. LED's require a lot less power and they will glow like that. The incandescent bulb saw the same power but it was not enough to emit photons.

there is a switch on the right side of the rear view mirror. go to SSRfanatic.com
