remove and replace your tail lamp fuse...

sounds like the shift lock has came loose inside shifter,if you are mechanical inclined,u can take the shifter apart and fix it,it is the button u push on shifter when you put it in gear, also check at break peddle see if she knocked the plug off of switch to enguage shifter,is at end of break peddle.

i was gunna say the same thing as you... but then i realized that he had switched brake lights... and your tail lamp fuse will prevent the shift lock actuator from working when it is blown... especially on the toyota's.
