Toyota sienna transmission

Asked by Andy Feb 14, 2017 at 11:53 PM about the 2005 Toyota Sienna XLE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna xle with 147k miles. Making bad bad sounds and
acceleration is terrible. My mechanic says it needs a new transmission, and is
quoting me a price of a little over $4k, parts and labor, incl. Trying to decide
whether to go for it, or unload it. Pretty sure that with a shot transmission its
not gonna be worth a lot. Anyone have any advice?

A car with 147,000 and that is 12 years old, I would not do it, I think its time for a new car...

don't have a mechanic rebuild your transmission. they only replace the parts that are bad and charge you $4000. buy a remanufactured transmission because all the parts are new and don't let a mechanic tell you any different. I know I went through that.
