Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hey y'all quick question for yahs I have a 2005
Chevy Malibu classic 2.2 4 cylinder engine, last
night I hit a parking block and it put a slight hole in
my gas tank on the bottom side to the point where
my fuel leaks completely out.....I called my buddy
who has a junkyard and he said he has a V-6 gas
tank off a. 2004 Chevy Malibu will they be the same
and will they fit together 40$ isn't bad I'm hoping it
will work if I just have to switch the fuel pump?

As long as your original fuel pump can mount to the tank, it should all be good. I don't think they are different in size TBH. If it is different it'll affect the mounting straps. If the opening for the pump is in a different spot you might have a clearance issue with your cars underside. Only way to tell is get it and lay them side-by-side. Try and get the part numbers for both and see what the difference may be. Hopefully they'll be the same.

Thanks man I'm hopin it works if not I ain't got the money for a new one
