Vibration in car once I get up to 50mph

Asked by Nov 08, 2016 at 03:56 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Impala LS

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What will cause a 2005 Chevrolet Impala to
have really bad vibration once I get the speed
up to 50 mph or higher? Also once I slow down
245 mph it stops vibrating.

Might try to a tire balance or sometimes it even takes an alignment

Yep, check the tire for balance first, 50-65 mph is like the magic number for feeling vibrations coming from an out of balance tire.

It could be a combination of things. Warped brake rotors, worn or loose tie rods, unbalanced or egg shaped tires

Front end vibration at over 45-50mph and higher. It goes away while accelerating then returns at regular highway speeds. Wheels are balanced.
