I have replaced front and rear brakes on my 2005 cheverolet impala, the rotors are good, but i can still feel it shake when I stop. It feels like the shaking is coming from the back more.
I have all new brakes on my car. Had the back rotors turned, the fron rotors are fine. But it is still shaking when I stop. It seems to be coming more from the back than the front. I know my tires need to be replaced, but they aren't that bad yet. I just don't understand. A friend said to have the weights on my brakes checked, but no one seems to understand what I am talking about.
Also,my ABS and traction light comes on too. Not everytime, but often.
There will not be any replaceable weights on the rotors as they are factory balanced during the machining process and that never changes for the life of the rotor. It is possible that you have a broken belt on one of your tires and that is causing the shimmy.
When you hit the brakes, what shakes, the vehicle , the steering wheel?
