Toyota Rav 4 2005
I would change all the fluids - radiator, axles, transmission and oil. Install new radiator hoses and fan belts. Replace spark plugs if they have not been done lately.
Thanks for getting back to me, I called a reliable mechanic and left him a message. He came highly recommended. I am also concerned about my timing belt. Thoughts? I am not sure when the car had the spark plugs changed, I have only had the car for a year. I do have the car fax report which is clean, and the car has been running great. I am trying to find a balance of doing enough work on it, but not too much as I do not want to spend money unnecessarily.
According to Toyota your car has a timing chain ---- http://toyota.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7690/~/does-my- vehicle-have-a-timing-belt-or-timing-chain%3F
Thanks, I was trying to find that information! So from my understanding chains rarely need to be replaced? The car runs excellently, I just want to keep It that way! Thanks for your help, how can I return the favor? Yelp review?
If the cam chain is quiet then don't worry about it. They can go a long ways.
your rav 4 has a non-interference engin, so if the t. chain goes its not going to hurt a lot,if the chain is not makeing a lot of noise, you may want to cheak out someone that has one,
