Are you positive that the vehicle is overheating and not just a bad temp gauge saying it is overheating ? Also feel the top and bottom radiator hoses once vehicle has reached operating temp if both feel the same could just be a bad temp gauge. If bottom hose gets hot and the top hose stays lukewarm remove t- stat then reinstall hose to see if it overheats with out t-stat installed.

I have a 2005 equinox 3.4 engine is over heating a lot of people think head gasket but in these engines its a little different. DONT sell your car cheap the problem in a 3.1 ,3.4, up to prob a .9 in most cases are the intake manifold gaskets one or all 6 (if oil is mixing with water) it takes about a day to fix.

Well let me give you this to try. My name is Floyd and I replaced every damn thing. What it turned out to be well you know the hose that leads back down from the reservoir to right behind where the thermostat is at where the rubber tube goes on to that pipe it was completely clogged up. I mean hard mineral had clogged it up to the point where water was not going back out of the reservoir so it wasn't moving through the motor at all. The motor that I just took out when I looked at that pipe it was the same thing completely clogged up

Let me know if that pipe is clogged up are there so many people out there with the same symptoms I just wonder if it's that same thing with everybody. Everybody replaces their radiator their thermostat they flush their system they check their head gaskets an intake gaskets and that's all it was one little stopped up pipe

oh and it's also easy to check all you really need is a pair of pliers to take that clip off and you can just stick something down in there. If you can't get anything through it stopped up
