Years toyota started airbags, for the record: Corolla: 1993 Camry: 1992 Tercel: 1991 4Runner: 1996 Tacoma/Truck: 1995.5 Landcruiser: 1995 Celica: 1990 Mr2: 1991 Supra: 1991 T100: 1994 Going with that info a 1992 truck didn't have air bags.

I beg to differ with you sir, I bought the Truck right off the showroom floor in '92 and the airbag was clearly noted as "SRS" right on the middle of the steering wheel.

Sorry I still can't find information on a Toyota truck having air bags in 1992 sold in the USA.

Was your accident 30 MPH or under?

It was at about 30 MPH. I was accelerating up to 40 MPH when the person pulled out in front of me and stopped. I put on the brakes hard and was decelerating at the time of collision. I can't be sure of the exact speed. In any case, my passenger side front end (about half of the front end) hit their drivers side front quarter panel. My front bumper wrapped all the way in to my front passenger side tire and the battery was moved to about the middle of the engine compartment. Fortunately for them I didn't T-Bone them.

Air bags are set to go at or above 30MPH so if the point of impact speed was just under 30 it won't pop.

I guess my question should be "Is the sensor located on one side or the other". And since I'm not sure if I was going 30MPH or greater isn't the point, I was just curious as to where the sensor was located. It's not my intention to sue anyone or anything like that, I'm just curious as to the sensors location.

I can't even find any parts listing for an air bag sensor or even an impact sensor for your rig.

Well I might be wrong (although I doubt it), but I swear it said "SRS" on the center of the steering wheel. You may be right, I went through the original manual and there's nothing in there about an airbag.

Maybe it says SR5 not SRS.

No, it wasn't an SR5. Let's call it a draw and I'll just wonder about it forever. The Truck was a total (unfortunately) so there's no way for me to go look to see.
