HOW DO I OPEN THE TOYOTA MATRIX FUEL DOOR MANUALLY

Asked by Larry Aug 22, 2020 at 04:18 PM about the 2004 Toyota Matrix XR

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 TOYOTA MATRIX XR and for whatever reason the fuel door is
giving me problems when I try to unlock it from the inside release. Is there a
way to open it manually without destroying the cover door?

If you remove the inner liner in the trunk, you'll be able to manually pull the cable that goes to the fuel door latch from behind it.
