Why would a 2005 Highlander's doors start automatically locking when the vehicle is in park and turned off?

This has happened recently on a couple of occasions.

This sounds like a BCM problem. The Body Control Module controls automatic door locks, etc. Have this diagnosed by a dealership. The BCM may be going out.

will this cause a constant chime when the car is turned off and you are outside the car?
