brake toyota corolla

Asked by kw2017 Jul 11, 2017 at 12:38 PM about the 2003 Toyota Corolla CE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Toyota Corolla 2003.
Had loose brakes (pedal goes all way down).
9 months ago, all tiers' brake pieces were replaced, yet three months later I
felt the pedal getting back to same condition.
Mechanic denied that his job was poor or the parts he bought were not
original.
Last week, I lost all brakes at once. Pedal all the way to end with no brakes
at all.
Mechanic is suggesting that it could be the Master Cylinder, for he still
believes the job he had done a few months ago was OK.

Any suggestions?

If its 9 months ago, you will have a hard time getting him to cover the cost. The car is almost 15 years old. Sounds like the hydralic pressure on your brakes is out. Take it to a different mechanic and get a 2nd opinion

Thank you Kr for your answer. He actually provided warranty for a year, yet he denies the job was poor. By saying "Sounds like the hydraulic pressure on your brakes is out", do you suggest it could be the Master Cylinder or are you referring to a different part? Getting a 2nd opinion is a good suggestion. thanks.
