what other motors will interchange with my 2001 toyota gt

my car smokes and was told instead of replacing my rings i should just
replace the motor.Well motors are very expensive and so im kinda lost in what
i need to do.need advise please

OK where you are? there are TONS of used Japanese engines because they are very strict and throw the baby out with the bath-water...so that means plenty for us~ check with a local salvager...or find a mechanic who'll spend some time with you and replace the worn parts on your current setup~ since I don't know where you're at try car-part.com...they are the single largest inventory-controlled salvager...sure to find a used one in your area~
