My car is losing power as I drive. And the electronics is going crazy.

Asked by MarciaJW Mar 08, 2016 at 01:57 PM about the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car started acting crazy. As I drive the door locks keep make a noise like it is locking and unlocking. When this happens it seems to lose a little power.  Sometimes when this happens, my check engine or TC light comes on, the speedometer doesn't work and the odometer (RPM's?) goes back and forth crazily. And I lose power.

Sounds like a bad ground wire, and that the alternator is not working. Have the alternator checked, and clean the ground wires.
