would like to know if the 2.2 L motor in my Celica Gt is an interference fit motor or not?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

apparently the timing belt has broken. was wondering if the pistons slammed against the
valves or not. if not a timing belt will fix it. if so then a salvage motor would be a better
repair.

The 2.2 in 1992 that was in Celica and Camry is non-interference. New belt, tensioner and time it you should be good to go
