Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car has 265k miles. Much work has been done. Drives great! Minimal oil leak. I add 1/2 quart between oil changes. leaking some break fluid as well. a/c doesnt work. The last mechanic bypassed the control panel to the compressor and burnt it up I believe. wondering if it could be a belt or just malfunctioning board. Any suggestions?

You stated engine light, was it a red oil light or a yellow check engine light?

OK that is an emission warning, it means that the computer has found something out of specs with your computerized systems, you will have to have the codes pulled to get an idea where to go for diagnostics.
