why is my "open door" light on after I make sure it's closed. Also door beeps repeatedly even when I'm out of the car and the door is closed. It also doesn't allow me to lock it.

why is my "open door" light on after I make sure it's closed. Also door beeps repeatedly even when I'm out of the car and the door is closed. It also doesn't allow me to lock it.  Acts like key is still in the ignition when it's not.

You may have a bad door switch, Or a short in the wiring from the door switch. Usually located on the frame of the car. Look where the door latch is when you open the door. There is usually a rubber cover on it. Google how to remove and test switch, and wiring. Hope this helps get you started.

Thank you I will be doing that. Thanks for the suggestion. I hope that's all it is. Since it's not happening with the passenger door, do you think I can rule out the ignition?
