Replaced Fuel Pump and Filter, now won't start.
Asked by sunofcain Sep 24, 2016 at 03:56 PM about the 2000 Toyota Camry Solara SLE
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2000 Toyota Solara 3.0L SLE 6 Cyl. When I was driving the other
day in literally stop and go traffic (three 4 way stop signs, a lot of traffic), it
shut off. I cranked it back up and drove a little, it shut off... did this for
about 20 minutes and finally died and would not start again. It does crank,
but makes no attempt to start whatsoever. Anyway, I replaced the fuel
pump, started the car, it ran perfect for about 5 minutes then shut off. I
started it back up. It ran for another 5 minutes then shut off then would
not start again. I replaced the fuel filter. Same boat. Please help.

My Solara turns over but will not start. Changed timing belt and water pump 6 months ago. Just replaced fuel relay, fuel pump and fuel filter. Could it be the timing belt again or something else? 2 answers
Sounds the same, when turning over, as it did when the timing belt went out 6 months ago. About to change the spark plugs. Could it be the crankshaft sensor?
