2007 Toyota Solara stereo works on FM I can scroll through and change the volume but that's it
I just bought a 2006 Toyota Solara I have radio the
speakers work fine but it's only one FM I can only
scan through the presets I think on the steering
wheel and change the volume but I can't use the
CD player ejected a few CDs that was in it when I
bought it and that's it.
I had a similar problem with a 2008 Solara and I ended up replacing the head unit with one from a wrecked car. All of my issues went away after that. The cost of the unit was not that bad (less than 200) and was pretty easy to install. You can find these on ebay or a local slavage yard.
I was hoping to avoid that but thanks it is looking more and more like that is the fix. I was going to try and disconnect the battery and let it reset but all's I have is the preset channels and I didn't want to lose them
DC the Battery is risky. The main computer...ECU...will loose it's memory...and...cost you$$$ to have the Idle and other computer parameters relearned. Safer to find any Radio/CD fuses and pull them for 15 min. Reinstall and check function of your audio systems.
Thanks for the advice that's a good plan..I may just go aftermarket since I have to take it out.
Sprinter...did you ever resolve the issue with this vehicle?
