There are no major issues reported with 04 Camry seats. Sounds like it could be something unique to your car. Is it under warranty still and have you contacted the dealer?

I just noticed a crack on the side of the drivers seat on my 2004 sienna with leather.

Leather cracking is bound to happen (especially the more its sat in-the drivers seat) unless you clean and recondition it often. Leather still breathes even though its no longer (alive) on the cow, it absorbs moisture, oils, etc which need to be removed and replaced with its natural lipids to prevent further damage. Think of it like your hands during winter- they get hard and crack if you dont put on lotion.
