2000 Toyota camry

Hi my 2000 Toyota Camry takes awhile befor actually
going into drive gear it goes perfectly fine into reverse. But
when put into drive I have to rev my engine then it jumps
into drive I took it in for a checkup when they said its my
shift solenoid "e" needs to be repair later in the week o
took it to a all teams which quoted me 2200 to overhaul
my transmission which I know sometimes it's there ho to
make money but needed another persons opinion what
does it sound like to you?
