My dealer said my 2000 Toyota Camry has a rear manifield (sic) leak (between the engine and transmission). What is this?

Usually the gasket between the lower manifold and the block gets brittle from heat, then leaks. The fix is to remove the top half of the engine to replace the gasket. Labor intensive = $$$. Try taking your car to a local mechanic for an estimate, might be cheaper.
