cracked timing belt cover on my '99 camry, 4cyl
where one of the upper bolts secure the cover there is a crack, overtightening I assume. Will this cause a problem
to the belt or engine?
You shouldn't have any problems as long as their aren't any loose peices to fall down into the cover, also be careful washing your car if u wash the engine, any liquid that gets on the belt could cause the belt to skip which would result in engine damage, I would suggest that you replace it in the future. Your local junkyard is a good start, probably $10-$20
