Hard to put in gears / no reverse
Put a engine in my 97 Toyota Camry manual
now shifting into gears are hard when
engine is on when the engine is off it shifts
easy and also no reverse put a new master
and slave in
As long as you know the fork and pivot ball a are good and everything put back the way it should be, the brake master cylinder and slave are not bled out good enough. It is easiest to bled as a hole unit on the bench by putting a "C" clamp on the slave to hold the rod in for bleeding. This way you get the hole action of the piston in the master to push out the air.
First thing, did you put engine in? If not go bac to who did & tell them. Maybe they caused it. At least consider if linkage from stick to trans is out of whack and/or if clutch needs adjustment on cable. Something could have been bent or not adjusted right especially of it worked right up to the time of of engine swap
My friend put it in and I helped possible its a horizontal shift cord?? When the engine is off it goes in all gears when the engine is on it won't go into any gears I have to start it in first then once I shift there is no going back and 99.9% of the time once it hits neutral it don't go into any gears its like its being blocked from going in
It also sat from June till now blew a piston so jammed up??
Yes, so the clutch is the least of your worries...so when you pull the engine, check out the fork in the clutch area, and bench bleed the brake master cylinder & slave like I described. Or choice #3, junk the car.
Did that already to much money into it already can't afford to junk it if its that cord I'll go get one from a junkyard someone else said plate I'm at loss I have clue what it is
Tranny is good like I said new engine just shifting is a problem

My old engine had a hole big enough for my hand to go in and the pistons were in my oil pan...OK I'll check it out
Say sorry, I was under the impression the motor you put in messed up. Shifting problems are because of the clutch not disengaging all the way. Either there is a problem with the fork, the pressure plate, or the brake master cylinder are not bled out good.
It is a standard not an automatic
What do you mean? I know...clutch...fork....pressure plate....bake master & slave cylinder...
Reason I said look at that sight is I saw info DAT might address ur issues wit stick trans. I saw some info DAT addressed it in detail. But Rowefast is correct too.
