2001 Toyota Camary solara v6 I was drivng approx 50 mph on main rd when the car died no sputter or anything just shut off just before it died I heard a rattle sound though? It will not start?
what can I do to find issue It will not start now at all it cranks but doesn't fire like its out of gas but has half tank? I checked all belts and all are intact. What can I do to find the problem?
Your going to need some ON SITE help for this issue. If your vehicle has more than 100,000 miles on the engine you could have a Timing Belt issue. Did you happen to notice if the CEL(Check Engine Light) was on before this problem surfaced?
Yes check engine light was on
We checked tailpipe for suction and it does so doesnt seem to be timing belts its a v6 so x2
One would now need to begin the diagnosis with checking the basics. Since the CEL was on ....we need to check the computer for codes. Pull the engine dipstick and check oil level ...smell....color....feel for contamination. Check for spark and fuel delivery....and...pull the cover covering the timing belt and inspect its condition. Pull the spark plugs and check compression. Much of this procedure requires special tools and equipment. You might consider a Tow to you trusted repair garage.
