is the 4 cylinder engine an interference engine?

The timing belt broke. Is it likely that I have valve damage?

Hello ugtma-- The 1991 toyota Camry is not an interference engine. That does not mean that you should be casual about maintenance. The recommended interval for changing the timing belt is every 60,000. Good luck from Bovan.
