will 205 60 16 tires be okay to put on a 1990 Toyota Camry

Asked by Jan 04, 2014 at 11:06 AM about the 1990 Toyota Camry LE

Question type: General

Need to take a road trip and the tires on the camry are bald will it damage anything if I put
my van tires 205 60 16 on the car, instead of 195 60 16

The 205's will be a little taller. I would make sure that when wheel is turned they don't rub on anything. So if they don't rub on anything you should be ok. But I don't advise putting any other tire size on a vehicle than what is printed on your door jam. That being said I have two vehicles of my own that I am running aftermarket rims and tires on them that are larger than my door jams state. Makes me think of an old saying "do as I say not as I do" lol
