Why do I have to change my alternator twice a year?
So, my 2001 toyota 4runner doesnt hold a alternator for
very long seems like twice a year I have to change it. Can
some one please tell me why is this happening??
Suddenly if im at a red light I can tell when my car just
slowly drops in power.
Do you replace the alternator with the original equipment from Toyota? Or do you buy rebuilt alternators which are generally less reliable. I had the same problem with a Buick Regal years ago using rebuilt alternators. Other than this, does a 2001Toyota 4Runner have a separate voltage regulator which could be the problem. But the voltage regulator probably is integral with the alternator.
