no reverse gear in automatic
I have a Toyota SUV 1994 with a v6 engine and an automatic transmission. All the gears work fine and I have had no ongoing and/or worsenings problems or slipage...one exception: Reverse abruptly stopped working. Never had any issue before. Huh?
It kinda sounds like you may have broke the reverse band inside the transmission. It will take a tranny guy to check it for sure.
Could be the range selector as well, but you still have to pull the trans to get to it. The good news is the range selector is cheaper to fix.
