check for compression, you've might blown top gasket

Water can't boil if it's under pressure ... that's why you need. a radiator cap. Iff all the coolant boiled out then you may not have seen an "Overheat" alarm.....If you are lucky you may have only melted something ... probably ignition module. If not then that lack of a radiator-cap may cost you more then the car is worth
