can i put a 1991 toyota 4cyl 22r in a 1990 toyota 4runer 4x4 3vz ? what do u want
trying to put a 1991 toyota 4cyl 22r in my 1990 toyota 4runner 4x4 v6 3vz, is it posable & what changies do i have to make ? ( " Please & Thank You!")
Possible but not practical . It will take some fabrication, not to mention a downgrade. There is nothing wrong with the 22R or 22RE engines. Your 4-runner really needs the V6. I fully realize the cost difference, especially if you already have the 22R but motor mounts are different, and not sure if it will even bolt up to your V6 transmission... I think not.
I do think it is possible. If the 22re engine was an option then with the right motor mounts it should go in. The trans may or may not bolt up. Like Ford says you will lose a lot of power.
